Residential services for people with intellectual disabilities
The Disability Trust operates group homes for people with disabilities in NSW, with homes in the Illawarra region, Campbelltown, and the Southern Highlands.
These group homes cater for people with intellectual disabilities, with up to five residents in each home. They provide a reassuring option for families of people with disabilities who face the often traumatic decision on the best on-going care for a family member with a disability.
Our trained staff provide 24-hour support and ensure the residents live in a safe, happy and home-like environment.
Many of the residents leave the home on a daily basis to attend vocational or recreational activities
Residents of our group homes for people with a disability participate in domestic duties such as meal preparation, and social activities.’
The NSW Department of Human Services: Ageing, Disability and Home Care pays for staffing and some running costs, while residents contribute 75% of their pension to cover their board and lodging.
