Internship Program
Project SEARCH is a 9-month specialised internship program designed for young adults aged 17-25 years, with NDIS funding. A combination of hands-on work experience with training in employability and independent living skills, empowering participants to transition successfully into meaningful open employment.
This unpaid internship program takes place in the workplace of our respected employer partners, and integrates classroom instructions, career exploration, and training through a series of worksite rotations.
Participants will complete three 12-week rotations with the host employer at their Wollongong site, spending four days a week at the business for 4.5 hours each day.
During the program, participants will engage in various roles within the business, develop competitive, transferrable, and marketable job skills, and boost independence, confidence, and self-esteem. Participants will also benefit from work-based coaching, instructions, and feedback, while staying connected with our employment services team for ongoing support.
Employers also gain valuable exposure to NDIS funded potential employees, breaking down perception and prejudices, demystifying workplace inclusion and gaining a priceless insight into understanding the value of a diversified workplace.
NDIS funding is a requirement for this program.
