Build skills, grow confidence, and connect with others through hands-on gardening and outdoor experiences.

The Trusted Gardening Program is an inclusive, hands-on program that supports participants to build practical skills, work towards personal goals, and connect with others in a natural environment. Through a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, participants gain experience in gardening, sustainability, and safe work practices while engaging with their community.

Experiences Include

  • Access to social connections
  • Learning about plant identification, the environment and sustainability
  • Learning woodworking and gardening skills
  • Planning programs and setting benchmarks to achieve individual goals
  • Opportunities for collaboration and connections with the broader community
  • Learning about safe practices
  • Participating in physical jobs such as mowing lawns and using other tools and equipment
  • Opportunities to work within indoor and outdoor settings (while following sun safety practices) to enjoy fresh air and natural environments
  • Opportunities to engage in all aspects of gardening, including, watering, space planting, weeding, pruning, fertilising, composting, and other bush regeneration skills
