TDT staff at biggest morning tea event

Biggest Morning Tea: A Sweet Success

Throughout May, The Disability Trust embraced the warmth of connection and the power of shared purpose as teams across the organisation hosted Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea events to support the Cancer Council.

With participants, families, staff, and local communities joining in, these gatherings were about more than just tea and cake – they were about hope, remembrance, and action for a cause that impacts all of us. One in two Australians will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85. It’s a statistic that makes events like this not only meaningful, but essential.

From classic scones to colourful cupcakes, our morning teas were filled with delicious homemade treats, raffles with incredible donated prizes, and fun competitions like the ever-popular lolly jar guessing game. Across the board, the generosity and spirit of our community shone through.

We’re proud to share that The Disability Trust raised over $1,700 this year – surpassing last year’s total. Every dollar goes directly to the Cancer Council to fund world-class research, prevention programs, and support services for Australians affected by cancer.

A reminder to prioritise your health
Early detection saves lives. Make time for regular screenings, check in with your GP, and encourage your loved ones to do the same. Cancer doesn’t wait – and neither should we.

There’s still time to support the cause. Donate here: https://www.biggestmorningtea.com.au/fundraisers/TheDisabilityTrust

Thank you to everyone who baked, donated, organised, or simply showed up. Your cup of tea helped make a real difference – and together, we’re helping change the future of cancer for generations to come.
