DES transitioning to Inclusive Employment Australia on 1 November 2025

From 1 November 2025, Disability Employment Services (DES) will officially become Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) – a new national program designed to strengthen employment opportunities and deliver more flexible, personalised support for people with disability, injury, or illness.

This change is part of the Australian Government’s plan to build a fairer, more inclusive employment system that helps more people prepare for, find, and keep meaningful work.

What this means for participants

The Disability Trust will continue delivering employment support through embarc – our dedicated employment brand and proud Inclusive Employment Australia provider.

If you’re currently supported by embarc through DES:

  • Your support continues. You’ll automatically transition to IEA with no disruption to your services.

  • Your goals stay on track. Any training, job search, or placement activities you’re working on will carry across seamlessly.

  • Your team remains the same. You’ll keep working with the same experienced embarc staff who understand your journey.

  • Your funding is secure. You’ll continue to receive the same level of government-funded support.

What you need to do

There’s no action required – your transition will happen automatically on 1 November 2025.
If you’re new to our services, you can register with embarc now and continue with us once IEA begins.

We’ll share updates along the way so you always know what’s changing and what to expect.

How embarc will support you

Change can bring questions, but embarc is here to make it straightforward and supportive.

Our team will:

  • Keep you informed about the rollout of Inclusive Employment Australia.

  • Provide clear guidance to ensure a smooth transition.

  • Continue focusing on what matters most – your strengths, your choices, and your future.

Key dates
  • Now – 31 October 2025: Disability Employment Services (DES) continues as usual

  • 1 November 2025: Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) officially begins

This change will open more doors, create new opportunities, and ensure every person has the chance to thrive through meaningful work.
