International Day of People with Disability 2025

Celebrating inclusion, belonging and the contributions of people with disability.

Each year on 3 December, International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) invites communities around the world to recognise the achievements, contributions and leadership of people with disability, while continuing important conversations about inclusion, access and belonging.

Across The Disability Trust Group, we marked IDPwD 2025 in many meaningful ways, coming together across our footprint to celebrate, reflect and connect. While activities looked different for different teams and communities, the shared message was clear – people with disability enrich our workplaces, services and communities, and inclusion is something we all have a role in creating.

International Day of People with Disability is more than a moment of celebration. It is a reminder of the importance of recognising rights, amplifying voices and removing barriers that can limit participation and opportunity. It encourages us to reflect on how inclusive our spaces, systems and attitudes truly are – and how we can continue to do better.

At The Disability Trust Group, inclusion is not confined to a single day. It is embedded in how we listen, how we support choice and independence, and how we work alongside people with disability to create environments where everyone feels valued and respected.

IDPwD is an opportunity to pause and acknowledge progress, while recommitting to the work that continues every day. We are proud to stand with people with disability, their families and supporters, and to keep building a future grounded in belonging, dignity and opportunity for all.
