Magic at Miranda

Magic in Miranda at Twilight Celebration

The Disability Trust’s talented community program participants gathered for a magical event in Miranda.

The Twilight Celebration 2024 was held on 26 November, a special occasion dedicated to highlighting the incredible skills and creativity of participants from the Photography Club, Cooking Group, ART Program as well as Performing Arts Club.

The venue was transformed into a gallery of talent.

One corner showcased the stunning work of the Photography Club. Walls were decorated with photographs captured throughout the year, telling stories of nature, community and sincere moments. Tailored calendars featuring participants’ favourite photos were displayed, offering a personal and heartfelt keepsake for families. Each image reflected the growth and unique perspectives of the photographers.

Nearby, the Cooking Group had conjured up irresistible treats that they had perfected over the past months. From chocolate moulds, rocky road bites, buttery shortbread cookies to vegan chocolates. The treats were all wrapped nicely and families eagerly sampled the offerings, praising the culinary expertise of the group.

The ART Program exhibition featured easels of varying sizes with colourful, expressive pieces. The walls and tables displayed a range of artistic styles. Every stroke of paint, every detail, revealed the passion and dedication of the artists. Families wandered through, admiring the works and offering heartfelt congratulations. The pride was exceptional – not just in the artists’ smiles but also in the glowing faces of their loved ones.

As the event was folding, the festive spirit took centre stage. Christmas carols filled the air, led by the Performing Arts clients in a heartwarming style. Their energy, enthusiasm and joy were infectious, prompting the audience to join in.

The Twilight Celebration showcased the power of creativity and community.

The smiles on the participants’ faces, the laughter of families, and the pride shared by all created a night to remember.

Each person left the event not only impressed but inspired, carrying with them the warmth and joy of a truly remarkable evening.
