The Disability Trust’s magnificent Music Makers performers took to the stage after months of planning and rehearsing to put on an entertaining show for the sell-out crowd recently at The Pavilion Kiama.
It was the 14th annual Creative Performance Evening and planning is already underway for next year’s show to see if the Music Makers can raise the bar even higher.
Music Makers put on eight performances, including jazz, tap and ballet, with each routine requiring a costume change.
This event gives Music Makers an opportunity to star in their very own show, performing to a supportive audience while also raising funds to assist in the cost of their year-round performances and opportunities for Sport and Recreation participants.
There were many talented local support acts, including local artists, vocalists, dancers and The Disability Trust’s very own Star Dancers and Kidswish KidsGroove programs, as well as silent auctions on the night.
The Music Makers program is supported by many community groups and businesses that sponsor the event and we would like to thank them for their ongoing assistance.
The high-quality show was enjoyed by all ages at the packed Pavilion.
Thank you to all those who attended from The Disability Trust and the community to support our participants and the many staff members and volunteers who contributed to the event.
Many of The Disability Trust staff members involved went above and beyond their job descriptions to combine with the dedicated volunteers, including many family members of the Music Makers, to help the participants as their support crew on the night.
A special thank you to the family of The Disability Trust’s Sport and Recreation’s manager Melissa Hurley who volunteer to put on this production together annually.
They have been volunteering with the Music Makers each week for the past 15 years.
Their commitment to The Music Makers is special and unique and very much appreciated.
Participants and the support crew are already looking forward to next year’s production.
