The Illawarra Participant Advisory Group.

Participants make their mark by co-chairing meeting

For the first time, participants co-chaired the meeting when The Disability Trust recently held its opening Participant Advisory Group get-together for 2025.

The Plant Room café at The Disability Trust’s offices in Spring Hill was the venue for the catch-up between participants and members of senior management.

Participants Alex Dawson, Jason Boxall and Max Lukmann co-chaired the meeting with Bronwyn Thomas, General Manager – Operations (NSW/ACT/QLD).

The agenda was developed in “Easy Read” format for the co-chairs and the other attendees.

The Disability Trust’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Tarryn Bracken, Regional Manager Illawarra & Shoalhaven Community Programs Michael Norris, and Residential Team Leaders Yvette Temple and Ryan Moore attended the meeting to support the participants.

These meetings are a great way for participants to have an opportunity to be heard, share ideas and offer suggestions on what our organisation is doing well and what can be done better.

Participant Advisory Group meetings are regularly held in several locations throughout The Disability Trust’s vast geographical footprint.

If you would like to attend a Participant Advisory Group near you, please contact Tara Cambourne on 1300 347 224 or email her via tara.cambourne@disabilitytrust.org.au, or let a staff member know you are interested.
