The Disability Trust selected to help drive NDIS SIL Quality Supports Pilot

The Disability Trust (TDT) has been chosen as one of Australia’s leading Supported Independent Living (SIL) providers to participate in the NDIS Quality Supports Program SIL Pilot. This pilot brings together select disability support providers to identify best-practice models, true costs, and service outcomes for people with disability – it’s about driving best practice in SIL care.

Driving best practice in SIL care

TDT supports over 300 participants across 90 SIL homes, from the Hunter region in NSW to the Victorian border. This recognition reflects our commitment to high-quality, person-centred care and our expertise in supporting people with complex needs.

Belinda Dawson, Chief Transformation Officer at TDT, said:

“It is great that TDT have been selected, and we get to have a seat at the table for this important insight into what it takes to deliver quality SIL services.”

What the SIL Pilot involves

The 12-month SIL Pilot will explore:

  • What quality SIL service delivery looks like.
  • The clinical oversight and workforce skills required.
  • The true costs of providing high-quality support.

TDT will contribute real-world data, case studies, and operational insights. These findings will shape future NDIS SIL policies, market approaches, and pricing frameworks to ensure better outcomes for participants.

Why this matters

The NDIA’s goal is clear: participants must have access to the high-quality supports they need to live independently. By sharing evidence and insights, TDT is helping to improve SIL services for people with disability across Australia.
