More about Project SEARCH

For some participants, the Job Ready Employment Program provides a strong foundation for considering Project SEARCH, a 9-month supported internship program delivered in partnership with local employers.

Delivered in partnership with local host employers, Project SEARCH provides a more immersive, employment-focused experience for participants who are considering a longer-term pathway towards work. The program offers structured support while participants learn, practise and grow in a real-world setting.

Project SEARCH offers:

  • Real-world, on-the-job learning in a host business
  • Structured daily routines similar to open employment
  • Individualised support to build independence, confidence and workplace skills

The Job Ready Employment Program can help participants decide whether a longer-term, workplace-based internship feels like the right next step, or whether another employment pathway is a better fit.

Completion of the Job Ready Employment Program does not guarantee a place in Project SEARCH.

The Job Ready Employment Program supports young job seekers to build skills for work and confidence while exploring future career and job opportunities.

As part of our disability employment services, the program helps young people develop practical skills, understand job seeking, and feel more prepared to find a job that suits their goals and strengths.

Whether someone is exploring their first disability job, considering different employment opportunities, or looking for the right employment support services, this theory-based program provides a supported starting point.

With a focus on real-world learning and individual needs, embarc’s employment services and Employment Pathways Supports (SLES) help people access meaningful jobs and ongoing employment support services that can include support work and longer-term employment options.
