Property Overview

Opened in 2018, Emma Ruby House is a purpose-built facility generously provided to The Disability Trust by The Ricky Stewart Foundation.

This welcoming environment serves as a versatile space for respite, day programs and for all ages and abilities. At Emma Ruby, services are run in alternating age groups to allow engagement in relevant skill-building activities such as cooking, laundry, shopping, and bed-making, all while enjoying a home-like atmosphere.

The house features a large open plan living, dining, and kitchen area, promoting communal meals and gatherings. Multiple living rooms offer spaces for people to relax or engage in individual activities

The central courtyard is a highlight, featuring a trampoline, swings, and vegetable gardens, providing ample opportunity for outdoor play and exploration.

Located adjacent to the Cook oval, Emma Ruby House boasts plenty of grassy, shaded areas where guests can run, play, and bask in the sunshine.

For moments of calm, a sensory room is available at the back of the house, complete with sensory lights, textiles, fidget toys, light projectors, lounges, and beanbags—perfect for downtime and relaxation.
