Located on Awabakal Country, The Disability Trust’s Hunter services span Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, the Central Coast and Port Stephens. We pride ourselves on our creative, individualised approach to supporting people to live their best life.
Living Options
Our Home and Living program includes 15 modern properties in the Lake Macquarie and Central Coast areas. We have a variety of contemporary homes, SDA living options, with various floorplans, including villa and single bed units. We offer a range of excellent options in the region with plans to expand our Supported Independent Living and Individualised Living Options models into Newcastle and surrounds. vacant SIL properties in this area.
Employment Supports
We provide a specialised, highly individualised pre-employment program where we work with candidates to explore employment opportunities. This program caters for people aged 14 to 65 with NDIS funding and a goal to enter the workforce. Our facilitators provide a tailored, one to one service to assist job seekers explore their strengths and discover employment opportunities. Job Seekers can access this service in the Lake Macquarie and Port Stephens areas.
Community Options
Being active and part of the community is really important to us as an organisation. We host a range of events including our CycleAbility program. We take advantage of the wonderful bike tracks around Lake Macquarie by providing modified bikes and trikes for people wanting to try out cycling. Enjoy a bike ride and a BBQ and get to know new people.
