Our employment services team in the ACT and surrounding region is focused on placing people in a variety of roles, including casual, part-time, full-time and apprenticeship positions. The Disability Trust’s employment consultants have excellent industry networks in many sectors, including hospitality, retail, administration, building and construction, garden and landscaping, cleaning, aged and disability care, and government agencies. The Employment Pathways program can help you get work ready and find employment that suits what you want to do. Our Sport and Recreation programs are very popular across the region and the people we support go on regular adventures like camps and day trips.
The Score Raiders program gives people with disability a chance to play rugby league under modified rules with two-handed touch. They meet weekly for afternoon training sessions where they learn the fundamental skills, improve their coordination and teamwork in a fun and supportive environment. They have had the opportunity to play against the Score Dragons in front of big crowds at NRL stadiums as curtain-raisers before Canberra v St George Illawarra games.
