Reconciliation Action Plan

Acknowledging the traditional custodians of the Country on which we work and live.

The Disability Trust is genuinely committed to creating positive change for those that identify as First Nations, Indigenous, Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander people.

As an organisation we have reflected and made acknowledgment of our shortcomings in our awareness and proactivity in this space. We have begun our journey on the pathway to Reconciliation. Working with Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander leaders within the communities we live and serve, we’re making informed decisions in creating positive organisational and community wide change.

Engaging with our Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander clients and their families has been pivotal in our journey to improve our cultural awareness practices. We are working to become the provider with the highest level of culturally informed inclusive support. Enabling respectful relationships between First Nations people and non-Indigenous people can help ensure a better future for all. We will continue to embrace our commitment to reconciliation as an extension of our ultimate purpose, to create an inclusive world where people are empowered to live the life they choose.
