The Disability Trust provides quality housing supports to people with disability through our Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) housing and tenancy management service, Trusted Homes.

Community Housing Registration
We are registered as a Tier 3 Community Housing Provider with the National Regulatory System for Community Housing (NRSCH). NRSCH registration gives the assurance you need that The Disability Trust provides quality housing and tenancy management. Unlike most generalist housing providers, we specialise in housing and tenancy management for people with disability and this is reflected as part of our registration. We are proud to be able to bring our expertise in relation to the needs of people with disability into the social and community housing space.
Our quality systems for tenants and the homes in which they live include:
- Regular housing inspections and maintenance reports
- Tenancy satisfaction surveys and feedback mechanisms
- Accessible choice and control initiatives to support tenants’ rights to select flatmates and have say about shared living arrangements
- Individualised tenancy accommodation agreements
- Quality asset management systems
- Centralised separate line management expertise for housing asset management and maintenance
These quality systems reflect and ensure The Disability Trust can realise its commitments to support the rights of tenants with disability.
General Housing Eligibility
To be eligible for The Disability Trust community housing the applicant must meet all the following criteria:
- Be a participant under the NDIS or My Age Care eligible with a disability
- Be a citizen or have permanent residency in Australia, and
- Be a resident in New South Wales (NSW), and
- Establish their identity, and
- Have a household income within the income eligibility limits, and
- Not own assets or property which could reasonably be expected to resolve their housing need, and
- Be able to sustain a successful tenancy, with or without support, and
- If applicable, make repayments of any former debts to a social housing provider, and
- In general, be at least 18 years of age.
- Be registered on Housing Pathways.
