Izzy branching out in her employment journey with The Plant Room café

Isabella is one of the friendly faces who keep The Plant Room café at The Disability Trust’s Wollongong head office running smoothly.

She is one of 20 supported employees at The Disability Trust who have thrived in the café at Edney Lane in Spring Hill under the guidance of renowned local chef Lorenzo Pagnan’s team.

And Izzy is now branching out on her employment journey to also bring her excellent skills and warm customer service to The Plant Room’s café at the HammondCare aged-care facility at Horsley.

Isabella.

The Plant Room is an Australian Disability Enterprise
(ADE) initiated by The Disability Trust which offers delicious food and great coffee at two locations.

ADEs facilitate opportunities for people to learn professional skills and gain workplace experience. An ADE can be a first introductory to the employment world.

Participants can gain invaluable lifelong experience and can learn to thrive as an actively employed member of the community.

The Disability Trust offers a range of employment services for job-seekers and employers – to check out how we can best support you, click here.
