Dr Shane Clifton

Shane is a leader, teacher and researcher on ethics, theology, and disability. He worked for four years as Director of Research and Policy at the Disability Royal Commission and is now with the University of Sydney as an Associate Professor of Practice with the Centre for Disability Research and Policy.

Lived experience of disability (quadriplegia) has taught him resilience, humility, flexibility and to value the diverse capacities of others. Shane values good governance and the leadership of people with disability in disability services. He is the President of the Board of Spinal Cord Injuries Australia and a Wollongong local who appreciates the work of The Disability Trust, including its expansion of inclusive local services to regional NSW and other states.
