Margaret Bowen

Margaret Bowen

Margaret retired from the role of CEO of The Disability Trust following 35 years of service in January 2023 and, after a period of absence, has re-engaged as a Director of the company. Margaret has dedicated her life to breaking down the barriers of society so that people with disability have the fundamental human right to live the life they choose with respect and dignity.

For more than 35 years Margaret has always believed and advocated for social justice, equality and the human rights for all people regardless of their abilities to live in an inclusive society. Margaret has demonstrated her integrity and beliefs in social justice working tirelessly to deliver these outcomes, putting forward the best interests of people with disability, families, staff, members, and the wider community.
