Goulburn’s Got Talent!

Club Trust in Goulburn has found new opportunities for participants to shine with the launch of a monthly talent show. The show is the brainchild of Naomi Douglas who introduced the idea following her recent appointment as team leader.

Participants perform songs, dance, tell jokes, and play instruments. They decide what kind of act they would like to do then staff help them to rehearse once or twice a week until it’s show time.

Performing in front of a sign made by School Leaver Employment Support (SLES) participants, this month saw ten performers ‘take to the stage’, and the interest is growing. The performance area may be growing too, as the SLES participants are currently busily making curtains for the next show.

As well as solo acts, some staff members have performed alongside clients. The staff have also been invited to perform solo but so far none of them have found the courage. Event organiser Naomi is determined to keep working on them!

Everyone that has performed has thoroughly enjoyed the experience, as have the enthusiastic audience who are eagerly looking forward to the next ‘Disability Trust’s Got Talent’ extravaganza.
