IncludeAbility Update

Our IncludeAbility Project, in partnership with the Australian Human Rights Commission, launched in November 2022. Since then, seven employers have committed to the pilot. The Disability Trust is proud to be the first organisation to successfully employ two people through the project, with the potential for more.

Monthly online feedback sessions commence in February, with Dinesh Palipana as leading facilitator. Dinesh is a doctor, lawyer, disability advocate and researcher. He was the first quadriplegic medical intern employed in QLD and has experienced firsthand the barriers to seeking and gaining employment, because of his acquired disability.

Dinesh wants to share information with employers on employing people with disability and aims to support employers create a more inclusive environment for all people.

If you are seeking employment or would like more information on the project, please contact our Disability Employment Services Regional Manager, Rebecca McIntyre, at rebecca.mcintyre@disabilitytrust.org.au
