Illawarra NDIS Day of Action

The Australian Services Union’s Day of Action was held in the Illawarra on Thursday November 17. Over 100 NDIS workers, participants, carers, and family members rallied for reforms to support workers in the disability sector. The Disability Trust had a strong presence at the event, including our Music Makers performers!

As well as members from The Disability Trust, over 100 NDIS workers, participants, carers, and family members were in attendance to rally for reforms to support workers in the disability sector. A main concern for union members is the casualisation of employment and the need for portable entitlements.

CEO Margaret Bowen spoke on the issue, saying “It is tough out there to get workers, but we won’t get workers unless we show they are valued, respected and supported”.
