Shoalhaven’s new facility a hive of activity

The Disability Trust’s new facility in Nowra is a bustling hive of activity, and that’s the way they like it.

After relocating to the Wesley Church for a year after their original building was sold, the Trust’s Shoalhaven team has been operating its Day Options and After School Care programs from the new premises in Osborne Street since September.

There are two separate areas for the people that are in The Trust’s programs to enjoy – the house is the quiet location which is a great spot to have some down time such as completing computer work or working on culinary skills in the kitchen.

Raised garden beds will be installed in the large outdoor space to grow vegetables, herbs and flowers.

Out the back is the hub which can get pretty noisy at times with the 24 Waratah Day Options participants engaging in fun activities every day.

The hub has its own kitchen area, a huge TV, pool table and lots of games and craft options.

Plenty of artworks are being created for the area which started out as a storage space but has now turned into a bright and beautiful place where people with disability can thrive.
